12/5/2017 - AFTERMATCH Methodology as e-course at Department of Physical Education and Sport Science, University of Komotini.
Venue: Department of Physical Education and Sport Science - University of Komotini, Greece
Summary: As coaches, the graduates of the Department will be responsible for athletes, who will focus on trying to reach the highest possible level of performance, become champions in their sport. This effort is of high energy and time requirements, with the result of neglecting many other aspects of their lives, including preparing them for their after-school life. This lesson gives students the knowledge they need to be able to advise their athletes to acquire the appropriate skills while engaging in sports that will enable them to live a dignified life afterwards.
The course takes place in the form of a seminar, once in the Spring Semester, to students of the 3rd year.

7/3/2017 - Presentation of the Educational Model to the coaching staff of Apollon Patras Basketball Club
Venue: Apollon Patras Indoor Hall – Press Room, Patras, Greece
Summary: InterMediaKT on 7th of March presented to the Sport Club of Apollon Patras, the educational model on the subject of action towards Coaches, Trainers and sport Managers. The presentation focused on specific training modules to be included in the training paths of sport trainers and managers within the federations, sport – related professionals about the need being not only «trainer» or «manager» but also «educator», with a particular focus on the inclusion of «post-sport career pre-emptive thinking» in the everyday relationship with athletes.

12/5/2017 - Presentation of the Educational Model to the Basketball Club of AEKK
Venue: Sport Hall of the Municipality Andravida & Kyllini – Kyllini, Greece
Summary: InterMediaKT on 12th of May, presented to the basketball Club of AEKK, what has been achieved so far by introducing the results of the AFTERMATCH Survey and then continue with the realization of the model, providing useful tools and methodologies about the balance between education and sport, how the young athletes, that participate in the training course, could manage their time and organize their schedule and finally which are the soft skills that have been developed in their sport career and how these skills can be used in a professional way.
2/6/2017 - AFTERMATCH Project at the Final Event with topic of European Conference on Dual Career: European Union Guidelines for the Dual Career of Athletes DC4AC – Erasmus+ Sport Project
Venue: Vouleftiko venue - Nafplion, Greece
Summary: The European Institute for Local Development, in cooperation with the European Commission, the Municipality of Nafplion and the ICPAT (Municipal Organization for Culture, Environment, Sport and Tourism), organized a European Conference on Dual Career: European Union Guidelines for the Dual Career of Athletes DC4AC) ». There, InterMediaKT’s / AFTERMATCH project representative, prof. Dimitris Gargalianos, presented the AfterMatch Methodology, philosophy along with the Project’s deliverables and results so far. The Conference, which took place on 2 June 2017 in “Vouleftiko” venue, in the city of Nafplion, aimed to promote the safeguarding of a safer future for athletes when their athletic career is completed. The aim of the event was also to re-integrate professional athletes into the labor market after the end of their sporting career. Athletes, clubs, sports teachers, sports committees participated in the conference.

13/6/2017 - Model Testing and Raising Awareness tables among Sports Clubs and Federations’ representatives
Venue: Hellenic Federation of Sports Coaches & Trainers (POPA) Offices – Athens, Greece
Summary: On 13th of June 2017, at the offices of the Hellenic Federation of Sports Coaches & Trainers (POPA), a workshop was held successfully about "The Double Career of Athletes - The AFTERMATCH approach". The project was carried out by IntermediaKT under the 'AFTERMATCH - Life Beyond Sport' project, a European, transnational project aimed to highlighting the 'transversal skills' that athletes acquire during their athletic career, which they can use in professional career after sport.

16-18/6/2017 - AFTERMATCH at the 2nd Handball Coaches' Symposium
Venue: TOLO Hotels, Conference Hall - Argolida, Greece
Summary: “ΣΥΠΧΕ” HANDBALL COACHES ASSOCIATION OF GREECE - announced the realization of the 2nd Handball Coaches' Symposium. The annual General Assembly of the Association, took place in the prefecture of Tolo – Argolida city, from 16 to 18 June 2017. There, InterMediaKT’s / AFTERMATCH project representative, prof. Dimitris Gargalianos, presented the AfterMatch Methodology, philosophy along with the Project’s deliverables and results so far. The co-organizers of the symposium were the regional unit of Argolis, "DANAON CUP", the Hellenic Handball Association and the School of Physical Education and Sport Science.

5/10/2017 - Training model for Employers / Responsible for Human Resources in the welcoming area of the POS4WORK
Venue: Patras Open Space, POS4WORK – Patras, Greece
Summary: On 5th of October, InterMediaKT presented to the Co working Space, POS4WORK the educational model about the action towards Employers and HR Managers. The presentation was addressed to employers and to the StartUps according to the selection and evaluation process of the candidates, to evaluate the sporting experiences and the skills of ex–athletes which were gained during their athletic career. Knowing the current situation in our country and after few discussions, the participants accepted with great interest the proposed methodologies and tools about the evaluation process for a job application, and how the Employers and HRs could have a clear picture of candidates, through their sport experiences which have been shared.

Summary: Major scholars, University teachers, journalists and athletes presented at the 4th Summer School of Sports Editors, organized by the Pan-Hellenic Association of Sports Press (PSAT), from 6 to 8 October 2017 and this year at the premises of the IOC in Ancient Olympia. The theme of the 4th Summer School covered a wider and important context, which concerned the mass media, Greek sports and its prospects, as well as the modern forms of communication.

6/10/2017 - AFTERMATCH at "Dual Career of Athletes & Sports Club Organization", organized by Naval/Swimming Club of Patras (NOP)
Venue: Commercial Chamber of Achaia - Patras, Greece
Summary: The Naval/Swimming Club of Patras (NOP) on October 6th organized, in the Commercial Chamber of Achaia, a scientific workshop to inform public and sport professionals on sports topics such as dual careers of athletes and sports club organization. The seminar will cover two important topics, which are fields of strong interest for the sports community.
The first issue relates to the athlete's professional outlook and the combination of systematic high-level training and substantial training with targeted professional rehabilitation. It is mainly addressed to athletes, coaches, parents, athletes, sports executives etc.
The second issue examines the methodology and the conditions for organizing a sports club in modern standards. It mainly concerns athletic agents, sports executives, coaches, businesses, operators, etc.

26/11/2017 - AFTERMATCH at 18th Congress of Hellenic Scientific Association For Sport Management & Recreation (HSASMR)
Venue: Chamber of Commerce of Evros - Alexandroupoli, Greece
Summary: On Sunday, November 26, 2017, at the Evros Chamber of Commerce, our scientific work entitled "Investigation of skills acquired by athletes from their sport" was presented as part of the Erasmus + sport program: "Aftermatch Life after Sport".
The conference was attended by scientists, athletes, sports entrepreneurs, researchers, students and actors of Greek sports. The aim of the conference was to interact with the participants on the important issues of the organization and administration of sport and leisure, the emergence and recording of good practices, the presentation of new market trends and the research and practical data on the organization and administration of sport. Prof. Dimitris Gargalianos - Deputy Professor of Physical Education and Sports Science represented InterMediaKT and AfterMatch Project.

Summary: The 18th Pan- Hellenic Congress of Physical Education and Sport of Northern Greece, organized by the Physical Education Teacher Association, and the conference included Special presentations and round tables, 7 specialized seminars and free publications from the whole spectrum of sports science (oral, poster, short and full paper). Prof. Dimitris Gargalianos presented the AFTERMATCH Project as a specialized seminar.

11/12/2017 - The Dual Career of Athletes - The AFTERMATCH Approach
Venue: Municipality of Serres (KEDIS) Hall - Serres, Greece
Summary: The Department of Physical Education and Sport Science of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in cooperation with the Municipality of Serres, organized on Monday 11/12/2017 at 13:00 pm until 15:00 pm in the KEDIS Hall (1st floor) a seminar titled "The Dual Career of Athletes - The AFTEMATCH Approach".
This was the first seminar of a series of seminars that will take place in May 2018 in cooperation with the Municipality of Serres with the aim of deepening the partnerships of our Department with the city's institutions and the convergence of the scientific community and the work being spent in universities with society and citizens.
This seminar was addressed to all those involved in the field of sport (students of the Department of Physical Education and Sport, athletes, coaches, teachers of physical education, physiotherapists, team members, etc.), as well as to parents with children's athletes. Also, the European project Aftermatch presented, which deals with studies on the lives of athletes. In particular, through the seminar the participants acquired the relevant knowledge about the appropriate skills that athletes need for a decent life AFTER the end of their athletic career.

Venue: Auditorium of the School of Human Movement and Quality of Life Sciences, University of Peloponnese – Sparta, Greece
Summary: InterMediaKT presented the educational models of the AfterMatch Project. The presentation focused on the research results of the project and, also on the specific training methodologies that be included in the educational modules of the project, where the “future” sport – related professionals, learnt about the need being not only «trainer» or «manager» but also «educator», with a particular focus on the inclusion of «post-sport career pre-emptive thinking» in the everyday relationship with athletes. Prof. Gargalianos and Mr. Matsankos presented the educational models to the students of the department and also to the educational staff, at the Auditorium of the School of Human Movement and Quality of Life Science.
